Did a little shopping for our camera today. We finally bought a zoom lens. We love this camera but zooming has always been a problem. We had no choice to shell out a few (ok, more than a few) bucks but I am hoping it will be worth it! Next: buy photoshop software. If anyone has suggestions about this purchase – let us know. May take the leap and use this coupon this weekend.
We are so ready for a long weekend. Taking this long weekend to relax and spend time with friends. Happy Friday! We’ll be back on Tuesday..
TGIF! It's been a long week 😉
For the first time since we started blogging, we had to skip out on yesterday’s post :(. Blame it on technology! But in the end it probably worked out for our little Chun. Looks like he needed a break! Happy Wednesday!
Don't you want to take a break from that camera?
Had a really busy but productive weekend. In the midst of a cleaning frenzy – came across a copy of Natural Dog magazine and found this great recipe – Baked Yam Chips.
The recipe calls for either yams or sweet potatoes. Side note: I always wondered the difference between the two since people often use them interchangeably and thought this would be a good time to get down to the bottom of it. Answer: they are different; yams actually have more natural sugar. Who knew?!
Below is a copy of the recipe from the magazine.
Recipe from Natural Dog
I made a few adjustments to the recipe:
- Used 1 sweet potato.
- Skipped the cinnamon.
Verdict: These are delish!
This pic is a little blurry because Chunyo devoured his chip! Any good recipes that you have discovered recently?
It’s been a busy week so we are SO glad it’s Friday! Have a great weekend 🙂 We’re expecting some company and will be hanging out in the yard..
Hoping for some more sun!
It’s been a crazy week so far but I want to make sure that I share my thoughts on my latest read before the week is out- The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. I started to read it last week on the train ride back from NYC and really loved it!
The Art of Racing in the Rain is a really a wonderful novel. This book, like a few other books out there is told from the perspective of the family dog (Enzo in this book). Readers who love their pets will be particularly drawn to this book. But even those who aren’t big animal lovers will still appreciate it. It is about family, love, loyalty and faith. The family in this book faces a number of challenges but find the strength to face these obstacles with Enzo by their side. It is a bit sad at times but filled with wonderful life lessons. I have to admit, there are only a few books out there that can make me cry and this one did it. A good cry that is! Paws up to The Art of Racing in the Rain!
Can't read it but can certainly pose with it.
Side note: In case you are wondering about the pic above – yes, those spots came from Chunyo’s slobber – yuck!
Tuesday posts are generally a little longer (try to add a little umph whenever I can). Unfortunately, today’s post is a little short. Started the week with a long list of things to do!! Started cleaning out the office – agh. How do we accumulate so much paper?
Next on the list: The garden… Will begin by pullin’ weeds! 😦 Fun, fun… Hopefully, Chunyo stays out of trouble while we are busy working..
You pull weeds.. I'll let you know if you missed a spot!
We did a little bit of everything this weekend – saw some friends, relaxed (spent Sat night watching movies) and ran a few errands (Chunyo came along for the ride). While we were out and about we picked up another toy for Chunyo – Fleecy Dog Toy (Vermont Style). Of course, it only took a few minutes for him to get rid of the “squeak.” Poor thing he can’t take the sound!
What are you going to do? He still loves the fleecy part..
Unfortunately, he wasn’t in the mood for pics. But thanks to a little bit of patience, we successfully snapped a few!
Check out my new toy!
No more pics please!
The week went by kind of quick which is a good thing for us. Looking forward to relaxing after our getaway last weekend. Sometimes there is nothing like being home. Look who got a head start!
You guys go to work.. I'll get a head start on our weekend plans 😉
Have a great weekend everyone (peeps and pooches)!
