As I mentioned in previous posts we decided to devote lots of our time this summer to some house projects. This is why I have been slackin’ on this blog 😦 So far we have gotten lots done (e.g., painted the trim of our house, shed and front door, put new numbers on our house, etc.) BUT there is lots more to do. In fact, we spent some of this weekend refacing our fireplace (phase 1 is completed – we’ll share details in future posts). We also decided it was finally time to put up some of the pictures of Chunyo in the hallway. We ordered some 8×10 photos from Mpix ($1.99 each) and bought some 11×14 frames ($6.99 each) and photo matts ($4.99) from Michaels and TADAAA!! See the final products below..
Have you used your dog’s pics as part of your decor? Anything cool you want to share..
This is before we put them up…
And here is the final view of the hallway. We decided to put one pic on each wall because the hallway is not very big. Gotta admit – I was pleased when they were up!
Happy Friday! So glad the weekend is here! Woohoo! But we are also happy to announce the winners to the Cesar Canine Cuisine giveaway.
Another drumroll please….
The lucky winners are Benny and Lily
Congrats and enjoy!
Have a great weekend!
A big thanks to Cesar Canine Cuisine for sending us their delicious products & cool t-shirt!
We currently have ONE plant. One lonely, old Bamboo that we picked up in New York City (gotta love Chinatown) years ago. Pathetic, I know but our Bamboo is still going strong!! Unfortunately, I know the time has finally come to have more indoor plants so I went on the hunt for some new house plants. Since Chunyo gets himself in trouble sometimes I wanted to make sure the new plants were non-toxic to dogs. I went to three places – Wal-mart, a local nursery and Home Depot – and only came out with TWO new plants. I really wanted to get a Ponytail Palm but the nursery wouldn’t sell me the one they had – it had bugs (just my luck), then the Yucca plant and the Corn Stalks I was eyeing in the store were both toxic to dogs. So after looking through the long ASPCA list on my phone, I came back home with another Bamboo and a Pleomele. SO the hunt will continue to find some more indoor plants.
Looking for suggestions! What plants do you have in your home?
THREE more days to sign up for the Cesar Canine Cuisine’s giveaway – ends Thursday!
Happy Monday! As you all know we have TONS of funny pics of Chunyo. This weekend while on the computer I finally visited Animoto to create a cute collection of Chunyo’s photos. Our boy has SO many funny faces. Here it is: http://animoto.com/play/ybhS0Y0kC93V41tL6jFquQ SUPER EASY! All you have to do is create an account and you can create short photo video (30 seconds/12 pics) for free! You can pay a small fee ($5 for the month/$30 for year) if you want to create a longer version. We added some Latin tunes in the background to keep you early birds awake 😉
I know lots of you have a nice collection of photos – so I suggest you check it out. Whenever I get a chance I want to make a longer version of some special events and travels. Would definitely recommend it to others – they have a collection of songs that you can insert in your video or you can add your own MP3 version. Enjoy!
Have you ever tried Animoto out? Thoughts?
Pssst!! Don’t forget to sign up for Cesar Canine’s Cuisine giveaway – its ends this Thursday!
Chunyo is one lucky dog!! He recently got really cool gifts in the mail. Which is Chunyo’s favorite flavor? Although he was a little suspicious of his bowl at first (first time having wet food) he quickly got over it. We mixed it with his food to avoid an upset tummy. His fav? Paws up to Chicken and Veal.
Oh and the treats were a hit too! They come in super cool shapes.
Chunyo’s Corner has not been compensated in any way for this review. Opinions are all are own.
Yesterday we mentioned Chunyo hasn’t been feeling his best. He had an upset stomach for a few days. We knew something wasn’t right when he wasn’t his usual bossy, playful self! He spent hours laying on the couch, didn’t want to go outside and couldn’t keep down his food. Poor thing! SO out came the Pepto (just a little) to help settle his tummy – no luck! Next option: make a quick run to the store to make him some chicken soup (bland of course). The next day we had to give him a little pumpkin to help with his system. Woohoo! Needless to say that helped put a little pep in his step. A sigh of relief for us – he is much better! No need for a vet visit after all. We had scheduled one but ended up canceling when we saw that he was feeling better. Phew!
We are thrilled that Chun is feeling better but we must admit there is never a drama free moment with this pooch! While chicken soup seems to work wonders for Chunyo’s tummy issues it also creates an avenue for other behaviors! Yep, you probably guessed it – he REFUSES to drink his water! He sniffs his bowl and walks away like you are giving him something that is absolutely unacceptable. It is quite a hilarious scene! Within minutes he plops himself next to his bowl staring you down to let you know that is waiting for some more soup! Because we have been down this road before (totally fooled me before) we recognize when Chunyo starts playing mind games with us. That’s right – we have his ##!!!! This time, I was ready! It was 94 degrees outside and since I knew Chunyo was feeling better I took him outside for a walk and let him feel the heat. Figured he would be thirsty, right? HA! No luck! He still wasn’t drinking from his bowl. Lucky for me, I was one step ahead – I had put some water in his Chilly Bones container. Lucky for me (and Chunyo) – it worked!! Always gotta be one step ahead of this cute canine! 😉
Anyone out there ever get fooled by your dog? Please say we are NOT alone!
